| The Boone County Heritage Museum will observe Railroad Day on Saturday, October 14, 2006. The museum at 124 South Cherry will open at noon for people who want to tour the Railroad Room before the program begins at 1 p.m. |
| The event sponsored by the Boone County Historical & Railroad Society, Inc. commemorates the M&NA, M&A and A&O railroads that once played such an important role in North Central Arkansas' economy. |
| Dr. Charlton Stanley of Elizabethton, TN will be the featured speaker. He recently wrote a personal account of The Wreck of the Thomas C. McRae M&A Motorailer No. 705 at Harrison on August 23, 1946. Craig Marheinke and several other railroad enthusiasts will also participate in the afternoon activities. |

| West to speak at museum January 11 |
The Boone County Heritage Museum will have their monthly program at noon Friday, Jan. 11. Guest speaker will be Don West, an attorney and history teacher at North Arkansas College. He has also served with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. He and his wife, Pat, reside in Harrison.
West will speak of Israel and the Middle East. He will also cover this area from biblical times to the present and its affect upon the world. |

| Doyle to speak at BCHS meeting Sept. 14 |
The Rev. Dr. Seamus P. Doyle, a native of Ireland, former Roman Catholic Priest and now Episcopal priest, serving St. John's Episcopal Church in Harrison, will be the guest speaker at the Boone County Heritage Museum monthly meeting at noon Friday, Sept. 14 at the museum located at 110 S. Cherry in Harrison.
Doyle will present a brief history of Ireland from "The Easter Rising" of 1916 to the present time, focusing on the most recent conflict and how it has changed Ireland. |

| BCHRS to give program on Rush |
Susie Rogers of Buffalo National River will present a program on the old mining town of Rush at noon Friday, May 4 at the Boone County Heritage Museum at 124 South Cherry.
The program is free and the public is invited to attend. The program is sponsored by Boone County Historical and Railroad Society. |

| Dix brings ‘diddies’ to town |
The Boone County Heritage Museum will present Richard Dix, member of the Sons of the American Revolution and Sons of Confederate Veterans, as a speaker and Irish musician for the March Historical Society monthly program.
Richard’s presentation is a combination of Irish “diddies” and foklore, and with his violin and sense of humor will keep you entertained for the lunch hour.
The presentation begins at noon on Friday at the Boone County Heritage Museum. The public is invited to attend and brown bag lunches are welcome.
